From Tip Drill to Self Esteem

Nelly

Apparently when Nelly releases his new album, Brass Knuckles, on November 13 he will do so with a community conscious.  MTV.COM reports the rapper will feature a track entitled “Self Esteem” with famed Hip Hop Legend Chuck D, and other songs that will uplift instead of tear down.  Nelly says he was inspired to be more responsible in this album after his recent participation in BET’s Hip Hop vs. America Town Hall Meeting.   He also discussed his views on Don Imus and how he believes Black America did not fully capitalize on the Imus Controversy.  Even though it’s clear that Nelly is trying to put out the fire caused by his tip drill credit card fiasco (don’t act like you don’t know), I kind of think Nelly has a point in some of what he says in the article.  Check it out for yourself.
